The large machining envelopes and vacuum table systems offer the ability to machine larger parts or nesting a series of smaller parts.
For the past decade manufacturers have relied upon Datron to produce seating components, control panels through to bespoke enclosures for electronic equipment.
One of the requirements for aero parts is that they should be machined from solid billet so the parts retain their strength but can be made as thin as possible to reduce weight. All parts require identification information to be engraved into the part, even sequential numbering is easily done with the NEXT control.
“The large format vacuum bed on our ML Cube is its party piece. It’s enabled us to reduce multiple operation parts into a single operation, this couldn’t be achieved on our traditional vertical milling machines. Despite having a very large bed, the machine is very compact. Another huge advantage is the dry machining, clean parts with no messy coolant – perfect! We’ve been very happy with our Datron and are now considering the purchase of a second machine.”
